Q1. How do I check my JPSC Prelims Result 2026 if I lost my roll number?

You can still check the result without your roll number. Open jpsc.gov.in and download the result PDF. Press Ctrl+F inside the file and search your name instead. The PDF lists both roll numbers and candidate names for every qualified applicant. Your prelims admit card copy also holds the roll number and registration details. As a last option, log in at jpscotr.com with your OTR credentials to view your profile.

Q2. What are the minimum qualifying marks for the JPSC Prelims exam?

The Commission fixes a minimum qualifying percentage for each paper under its own rules. General category candidates need a higher score than reserved category applicants. Relaxation is given to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per Jharkhand state norms. The result PDF does not print your marks. Only the roll numbers of qualified candidates appear in the list. The separate scorecard shows your actual paper wise score.

Q3. Can I re-check my answer sheet or apply for scrutiny?

JPSC allows candidates to see their answer sheets through the RTI process. A separate schedule for answer sheet perusal is published on the official website. There is no general re-checking or re-evaluation of OMR sheets. Objections against the model answer key must be raised inside the given window. For this cycle, the window ran from 20/04/2026 to 24/04/2026 up to 5 PM. Late objections are never accepted.

Q4. What happens after the prelims result is declared?

Qualified candidates move to the Main Exam stage. The Mains application window opened on 3 July 2026 and closes on 9 July 2026. Only shortlisted candidates can fill this form at jpscotr.com. The Main Exam is scheduled for 18 July 2026. A descriptive written test follows at centres across Jharkhand. Candidates who clear the Mains then face the interview round.

Q5. How many candidates are shortlisted for the JPSC Main Exam?

The Commission normally shortlists around 12 to 13 times the total vacancy count. For 103 vacancies, that works out to roughly 1,200 to 1,350 candidates. The exact figure depends on ties in the qualifying marks. A tie is broken using the Commission rules for merit order. The final number is printed in the official result notice.

Q6. Is there any age relaxation for reserved categories in JPSC Civil Services 2026?

Yes. OBC candidates get 3 years of upper age relaxation. SC and ST candidates get 5 years. PwD candidates get between 10 and 15 years depending on their category. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per state government norms. The age is calculated as on 01/08/2026. General category candidates get no relaxation beyond the base limit.

Q7. What documents do I need for the Mains application and document verification?

Keep your Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 certificate, and bachelor degree certificates ready. Caste, EWS, and PwD certificates must come from a competent authority. Carry a recent passport photo, scanned signature, and a valid photo ID. Government employees must also bring an NOC from the current employer. All documents should be self attested where the notification asks for it.

Q8. Where can I download the JPSC Prelims answer key and result PDF?

Both files sit on the official JPSC portal at jpsc.gov.in. The model answer key was released on 20/04/2026. The prelims result came out on 03/07/2026. Look under the Result section or the latest news panel on the home page. Save a soft copy of each file for future reference. The scorecard is also available through the OTR login at jpscotr.com.
