Q1. When was the UPSC NDA and NA (I) 2026 written result declared?

UPSC released the roll number wise result PDF on 8 May 2026. The name wise result followed on 13 May 2026. Both files are hosted on the official commission portal. You can open them without any login or password. Only candidates who clear the written test move to the SSB round.

Q2. I lost my roll number. Can I still check my NDA I result?

Yes, you can check it easily. UPSC publishes a separate name wise PDF for this reason. Search your full name in that file to confirm your selection. Keep your registration number and date of birth ready for later stages. The commission also sends an SMS or email alert to shortlisted candidates.

Q3. What are the minimum qualifying marks in the UPSC NDA written examination?

UPSC does not declare fixed qualifying marks in the official notification. The commission decides minimum marks for each paper internally. It also fixes the overall cut off after the exam is over. The final merit is built from written marks plus SSB marks. There is no passing percentage published in advance for any paper.

Q4. Does UPSC apply negative marking in the NDA written test?

Yes, negative marking applies in both papers. One third of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. Rough work is allowed only inside the question booklet. Do not guess blindly at the OMR sheet. Skipping a tough question often protects your total score.

Q5. Can I apply for re-checking or re-evaluation of my NDA answer sheet?

No, UPSC does not allow re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets. The commission only runs a provisional answer key window for objections. You may raise objections within the declared dates. After that window closes, the final answer key stands. No personal correspondence about marks is entertained by the commission.

Q6. What happens after the UPSC NDA (I) written result is declared?

Shortlisted candidates receive an SSB interview call letter. The SSB runs for five days at a designated selection centre. It includes an intelligence test, picture perception, group tasks and a personal interview. A detailed medical examination follows for those who clear the SSB. UPSC then prepares the final merit list and academy allotment.

Q7. Which documents should I carry for the SSB and document verification?

Carry your Class 10 certificate for date of birth proof. Bring the Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate. Keep the e-Admit Card printout and the result PDF ready. Category certificates and recent photographs are also required. Always carry originals along with two sets of photocopies.

Q8. Is the application fee refundable and who was exempted from paying it?

No, the application fee is never refunded under any circumstance. General, OBC and EWS candidates paid Rs 100 at the time of registration. SC, ST and female candidates were fully exempted from the fee. The result PDF itself is completely free to download. UPSC charges nothing to check your written result or scorecard.
