Q1. I lost my UPSC CDS I 2026 roll number. How do I check my result?

The written result PDF prints roll numbers only. Names never appear on this list. Your roll number is printed on the e-admit card released on 2 April 2026. Log in at upsconline.nic.in with your registration ID and date of birth. The dashboard will show your admit card again. Note the roll number and search it in the result PDF. You can also contact the UPSC facilitation counter for help.

Q2. What are the minimum qualifying marks in UPSC CDS I 2026?

The commission fixes subject wise minimum marks along with an aggregate cutoff. UPSC generally keeps the individual paper floor near 20 percent. The final cutoff depends on paper difficulty and the number of candidates. There is no fixed pass mark announced in advance. Official cutoff figures are published only after the final result.

Q3. Can I apply for re-checking or re-evaluation of my CDS I answer sheet?

No. UPSC does not permit re-checking or re-evaluation of objective answer sheets. The only route open to candidates was the answer key challenge. That window closed on 22 April 2026. Objections sent by post or email were not entertained. All decisions of the commission on the answer key are final.

Q4. What happens after the UPSC CDS I written result is declared?

Shortlisted candidates must fill the online Detailed Application Form. UPSC then issues SSB interview call letters through the official portal. The SSB runs for five days and carries 300 marks. It covers intelligence tests, group tasks and a personal interview. A medical board checks fitness afterwards. The final merit list combines written marks and SSB marks.

Q5. How could I challenge the UPSC CDS I provisional answer key?

The challenge window stayed open from 18 April to 22 April 2026. Candidates had to log in at upsc.gov.in using their roll number. Each objection needed proof from a standard textbook or authoritative source. A fee of Rs 100 was charged for every question challenged. The commission reviewed all claims before freezing the final key.

Q6. Is there negative marking in the UPSC CDS exam?

Yes. One third of the marks given to a question are deducted for every wrong answer. Blind guessing can pull your score down fast. Questions left unanswered carry no penalty at all. Each paper holds 100 marks and runs for two hours. The written exam is worth 300 marks in total.

Q7. Which documents do I need to carry at the SSB interview stage?

Carry the original matriculation certificate for date of birth proof. Bring your degree certificate and all marksheets. Keep a valid photo identity proof ready. Candidates claiming reservation need a caste or EWS certificate. Bring twelve passport size photographs. Also carry the SSB call letter and a printed copy of your application form.

Q8. What is the age limit for UPSC CDS I 2026 and who gets relaxation?

Age is counted as on 1 January 2027. IMA and INA applicants must be 19 to 24 years old. Air Force Academy applicants need 20 to 24 years. OTA applicants can be 19 to 25 years old. OBC candidates get 3 extra years. SC and ST candidates get 5 extra years. PwD candidates get 10 to 15 extra years.

Q9. Are final year graduation students eligible for UPSC CDS I 2026?

Engineering students need an AICTE approved B.Tech or B.E. degree for INA. Air Force Academy applicants need Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
