Q1. How do I check the SSC JE Final Result 2026 if I have lost my registration number?

Open the result PDF from ssc.gov.in and search for your roll number with Ctrl and F. The PDF lists roll numbers of all shortlisted candidates, so no login is needed. If you lost the roll number too, use the forgot registration number option on the candidate login page. Enter your name, date of birth and registered mobile number. SSC will send the details to your registered mobile number and email ID.

Q2. What are the minimum qualifying marks in SSC JE Paper I and Paper II?

SSC fixes category wise minimum qualifying marks for both papers. General and EWS candidates need 30 percent, OBC candidates need 25 percent and SC, ST and other reserved candidates need 20 percent. Paper I carries 200 marks and Paper II carries 300 marks. You must clear each paper separately to move to the next stage. Only candidates who clear both papers with the required minimum marks appear in the final merit list.

Q3. Is there any interview or skill test in the SSC Junior Engineer selection process?

There is no personal interview round in this recruitment. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification after the final result. A computer proficiency or skill test applies to a few posts only, as per the department requirement. The recruitment process ends with document verification and a medical fitness check. Final appointment letters are issued by the concerned department after all checks are complete.

Q4. Can final year engineering students apply for the SSC JE 2025 recruitment?

You must hold a valid degree or diploma in the related trade on the cutoff date mentioned in the notification. Candidates whose final semester result was declared before that date could apply. A provisional passing certificate is accepted at the document verification stage in some cases. Final year students without a passing certificate were not eligible. Always keep the original marksheet ready for verification.

Q5. How is the age limit calculated and what relaxation applies to reserved categories?

Age is counted as on the cutoff date fixed in the official recruitment notice. The upper age limit was 32 years for CPWD and CWC posts and 30 years for all other departments. The lower age limit was 18 years for every post. OBC candidates get 3 years of relaxation and SC, ST candidates get 5 years. PwD candidates receive 10 to 15 years of relaxation as per government rules, while Ex-Servicemen get relaxation under existing norms.

Q6. Is there a negative marking scheme in the SSC JE examination?

Yes, both papers carry negative marking for wrong answers. Paper I deducts 0.25 marks for every incorrect response. Paper II deducts 1 mark for every incorrect response. Questions left blank do not attract any penalty. You should attempt only those questions where you are reasonably confident. The final answer key decides which responses are treated as correct for scoring.

Q7. Can I apply for re-checking or re-evaluation of my SSC JE answer sheet?

SSC does not allow re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets after the final result. The only review option is the answer key challenge window, which opens before the result. Candidates can raise objections against the tentative answer key by paying the prescribed fee per question. Once the final answer key is published, no further change or correction is permitted. The declared final result is treated as the last word on this matter.

Q8. What happens after the SSC JE final result is declared?

Candidates who appear in the final merit list are called for document verification. Original certificates are checked against the details submitted in the online application. A medical fitness examination follows for the shortlisted candidates. The commission then recommends candidates to departments such as BRO, CPWD, CWC, MES and NTRO. Appointment letters and joining dates are issued by the respective department after all formalities are complete.

Q9. How can I download my SSC JE Paper II marks and individual scorecard?

Visit ssc.gov.in and open the Candidate Login section. Enter your registration number and password to sign in. If the password is not available, use the date of birth option in DD/MM/YYYY format. The portal displays your Paper II marks, question wise response and qualifying status. Download the marks page as a PDF before the login window closes. Keep the printout safe for future reference and department formalities.
