Q1. What is the minimum educational qualification needed for SSC CHSL 2026?

You must pass the 12th Class or Intermediate exam from a recognized board in India. LDC and JSA posts simply need a 12th pass certificate. Data Entry Operator Grade A needs a 12th pass in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject. Students in the final year of class 12 should check the cut off date given in the official notice before applying, because the passing certificate must be in hand by that date.

Q2. What is the age limit and the cut off date for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026?

The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 27 years as on 01 August 2026. OBC candidates get 3 years of upper age relaxation, while SC and ST candidates get 5 years. PwD candidates get 10 to 15 years of relaxation. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per existing government rules. Age proof is taken from your Class 10 certificate only.

Q3. What is the selection process and exam pattern for SSC CHSL 2026?

The Tier I computer based test carries 100 questions of 200 marks in 60 minutes, with four sections of 25 questions each. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. Tier II is another computer based test with separate modules for reasoning, maths, English, general awareness and computer knowledge. A typing or data entry skill test follows for the respective posts. Document verification and a medical examination come last.

Q4. How much is the application fee for SSC CHSL 2026 and who is exempted?

General, OBC and EWS candidates pay Rs 100. SC, ST, PH (Divyang) and all female candidates pay nothing at all. Fee payment is done online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI or E Challan. The last date for fee payment is 08 October 2026. An unpaid application form is treated as rejected without any notice.

Q5. When will the SSC CHSL 2026 admit card be released and how do I download it?

SSC usually uploads the Tier I admit card 3 to 5 days before the exam date. You can download it from ssc.gov.in by entering your registration number and date of birth. Check your name, roll number, category, photograph, signature, exam shift and centre very carefully. Carry a printed copy along with an original photo identity proof such as Aadhaar or PAN.

Q6. Is there any correction window for the SSC CHSL 2026 application form?

Yes, the correction window stays open from 14 October 2026 to 16 October 2026. The first correction attempt costs Rs 200, while a second correction costs Rs 500. Only limited fields can be edited, so read the notice before paying. Details like name, father name and category are usually not changeable.

Q7. What are the SSC CHSL 2026 Tier I exam dates and shift timings?

The Tier I exam is scheduled from 30 November 2026 to 31 December 2026. Exams may run in multiple shifts each day. Your exact reporting time and shift timing will be printed on the admit card only. Reach the centre at least 60 minutes before the gate closing time to finish the security check.

Q8. Is One Time Registration (OTR) compulsory for SCC CHSL 2026 and where can I get the notification PDF?

Yes, every candidate must complete One Time Registration on the new SSC portal before filling the application form. OTR created on the old SSC website does not work on the new portal. The official notification PDF and the exam notice are available on ssc.gov.in. You can also grab the direct links from Sarkari King, along with the Tier I and Tier II syllabus file.
