Q1. When was the HPSC HCS Mains Result 2026 declared and where can I download it?

The Commission declared the Mains Result on 17 September 2026. You can download the official PDF from the What is New section of hpsc.gov.in. The direct file link is also given in the important links table above. Save the file on your phone or laptop right away.

Q2. What is the educational qualification required for HPSC HCS 2026 posts?

You need a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. There is no subject restriction for most posts. Final year students may apply if they complete the degree before the cutoff date. Candidates holding a distance learning degree from a recognized university are also eligible.

Q3. What is the age limit and category wise relaxation for HCS posts?

The age is counted as on 1 January 2026. For DSP the band is 18 to 27 years. For all other posts it is 18 to 42 years. Haryana SC and ST candidates get 5 years of extra relaxation. BC, EWS and PwD applicants get relaxation as per state rules. Ex-servicemen also get the usual concession.

Q4. What is the minimum qualifying marks in the HPSC HCS Mains exam?

The Commission fixes category wise minimum marks for the Mains stage. General candidates usually need a higher score than reserved category applicants. Exact qualifying marks are printed in the official notification and the result notice. Only candidates who cross that bar appear in the Mains result PDF.

Q5. I lost my roll number. How can I check my HCS Mains result?

Search the result PDF using your full name instead of the roll number. Press Ctrl and F on the PDF and type your name. You can also log in at regn.hpsc.gov.in/hcs26/site/login with your registration details. Your submitted application form copy also carries the roll number. Contact the Commission helpdesk if nothing works.

Q6. Is there any re-checking or re-evaluation facility for HCS Mains answer sheets?

The Commission does not allow routine re-evaluation of descriptive answer sheets. A limited re-checking window is sometimes opened for objective prelims papers only. You must pay the prescribed fee and apply within the given dates. Watch the official portal for any such notice after the result.

Q7. What happens after the HPSC HCS Mains Result 2026?

Qualified candidates are called for the interview and personality test. The Commission then publishes a final merit list. Document verification follows for the selected candidates. Original certificates are matched with the online form details. A medical examination is conducted before the joining letter.

Q8. Is the scorecard released along with the Mains result PDF?

The result PDF only shows roll numbers of shortlisted candidates. Marks and scorecards are uploaded separately on the candidate login. You can view them at regn.hpsc.gov.in/hcs26/site/login once the link goes live. Keep checking the portal for the marks disclosure notice.
