Q1. What is the educational qualification required for BSF HC Ministerial and ASI Steno posts?

You must have passed the 10+2 Intermediate exam from any recognised board in India. No degree or diploma is needed for either post. ASI Stenographer candidates also need a working stenography skill. That skill is checked through a dictation and transcription test. HC Ministerial candidates must show a prescribed computer typing speed. Always confirm the exact skill norms in the official recruitment notification.

Q2. How do I raise an objection against the BSF provisional answer key?

Log in to rectt.bsf.gov.in with your registration number, roll number, and date of birth. Download the answer key along with your response sheet. Pick the question you want to challenge and attach valid supporting proof. Pay the objection fee per question if the notice asks for it. Submit everything before 12 September 2026. Late or unverified challenges are rejected outright.

Q3. What is the age limit for this BSF recruitment and how is it calculated?

The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 25 years. The cutoff date is 1 August 2024. Your age is calculated as on that exact date. OBC candidates get 3 years of upper age relaxation. SC and ST candidates get 5 years. PwD candidates get 10 to 15 years as per rules. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation under standard government norms.

Q4. Do SC, ST, PH, and female candidates have to pay any application fee?

No. SC, ST, and PH candidates are fully exempted from the application fee. Female candidates of every category also pay nothing. General, OBC, and EWS male candidates paid Rs 147.25. The fee was accepted through Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net Banking. An unpaid form was treated as incomplete and rejected.

Q5. What is the selection process for BSF HC Ministerial and ASI Steno posts?

The process starts with an objective written examination. That paper covers intelligence, awareness, aptitude, and language sections. Shortlisted candidates then face a skill test. ASI Steno candidates take a dictation and transcription test. HC Ministerial candidates take a computer typing test. Document verification and a medical examination follow for final selection.

Q6. Is there negative marking in the BSF written examination?

Negative marking applies strictly as stated in the official notification. Read the marking scheme before you attempt the paper. Candidates should download the answer key and response sheet first. Compare both documents to estimate your expected score. The final merit list is prepared only after the objection window closes.

Q7. Which documents are needed at the time of document verification?

Carry your Class 10 marksheet and certificate for date of birth proof. Bring your Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate. Add your stenography or typing skill certificate if your post demands it. Keep a valid caste, EWS, or PwD certificate issued by a competent authority. Also carry a government photo identity card and fresh passport-size photographs.

Q8. Can candidates who are in their final year of Class 12 apply for these posts?

No. You must have already passed the 12th class exam from a recognised board. Final year appearing candidates are not eligible for these posts. The passing certificate is checked during document verification. Candidates without a valid marksheet should wait for the next recruitment cycle. Always keep your original certificates ready before applying.
