Q1. What teaching qualifications do I need for the PGT posts in this recruitment?

You need a master's degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks. A B.Ed or an equivalent teaching degree is also required. Candidates with a valid TET or CTET certificate get preference. Retired teachers from KVS, JNV, Sainik Schools, and UP Board schools are also welcome to apply.

Q2. What is the age limit and which date is used for calculation?

The upper age limit is 50 years as on 01 July 2026. The notice does not fix a hard minimum age for applicants. OBC candidates receive 3 years of relaxation, while SC and ST candidates receive 5 years. PwD and ex-servicemen candidates get relaxation as per state government rules.

Q3. Is there any application fee for General, OBC, SC, or ST candidates?

No. Every candidate is fully exempt from the application fee for this vacancy. General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, women, and PwD applicants all pay nothing. There is no online payment gateway involved anywhere in the process.

Q4. Is there a written exam, or is selection based only on merit?

There is no written test or objective paper for these posts. Screening starts with your academic marks and subject eligibility. Shortlisted candidates attend an interview or teach a demo class. Document verification and a basic medical check follow after that.

Q5. What is the contract period and the monthly salary for each post?

The engagement runs for one academic session, that is 2026-27. PGT teachers receive Rs 36,750 per month. TGT teachers receive Rs 34,125 per month. Renewal after the session depends on your performance and the school requirement. This post carries no permanent government service benefits.

Q6. How do I apply when the process is completely offline?

Download the prescribed form from the official notification PDF first. Fill it in clear handwriting and attach self attested copies of your certificates. Paste a recent passport photo on the form. Send the envelope by post or by hand before 02 September 2026. The exact address is printed inside the notification.

Q7. Can retired teachers or guest faculty apply for these contractual seats?

Yes. Retired teachers from KVS, JNV, Sainik Schools, and UP Board institutions can apply for these seats. Their past classroom experience is counted during the screening stage. You must still meet the subject qualification and the 50 year age ceiling on the cutoff date.

Q8. Where can I check the merit list and other official updates?

Track the Gorakhpur district portal at gorakhpur.nic.in for official notices. The school notice board also displays the merit list and interview schedule. Keep checking SarkariKing.com for fast updates, dates, and result links.
