Q1. Is the AFCAT 02/2026 batch result declared?

The Indian Air Force is expected to declare the result on 09 September 2026. The scorecard link goes live on afcat.edcil.co.in on the same day. Shortlisted candidates also get an email and SMS alert. So you do not need to keep refreshing the page all day. Keep your registration number and date of birth ready before you log in.

Q2. How can I check my AFCAT result if I lost my registration number?

Open the candidate login page on the official portal. Use the forgot registration number or forgot password option there. Enter your registered mobile number and email ID to get an OTP. Reset your login details and sign in again. If the OTP does not arrive, write to the AFCAT helpdesk with your application details. Candidates can also check the result through the roll number wise PDF once it is uploaded.

Q3. What are the minimum qualifying marks in the AFCAT exam?

The AFCAT paper carries 300 marks in total. The Indian Air Force fixes the minimum qualifying marks for every batch. Branch wise cut off lists are published along with the scorecard. Cut offs change each session based on paper difficulty and seat count. There is no fixed permanent cut off figure for this exam.

Q4. What is the AFCAT exam pattern and does negative marking apply?

The paper has 100 questions carrying 300 marks in total. It covers Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude, and General Awareness. The duration is two hours for all candidates. One mark is cut for every wrong answer. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Q5. Does every candidate pay the application fee for AFCAT?

AFCAT entry applicants pay Rs 550. NCC Special Entry applicants pay nothing at all. There is no category wise fee concession for the AFCAT entry. Payment is accepted through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, and UPI. The fee is non refundable once the form is submitted.

Q6. What happens after the AFCAT result is declared?

Shortlisted candidates are called for the Air Force Selection Board interview. The AFSB testing runs in two stages. Stage one has intelligence rating and picture perception tests. Stage two has group tasks, a personal interview, and conference rounds. Recommended candidates then go for the medical examination.

Q7. Which documents are needed at the AFSB and medical stage?

Carry your AFCAT scorecard and a printed application form. Bring Class 10 and 12 marksheets along with graduation certificates. NCC candidates must carry the Air Wing Senior Division 'C' certificate. Keep a valid photo identity proof like Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport handy. Passport size photographs and category certificates should also be carried.

Q8. Can I use an old AFCAT scorecard for a new batch?

No. Every AFCAT result stays valid only for that particular batch. An old scorecard cannot be used for a fresh entry. Candidates who do not clear the AFSB can appear again in the next AFCAT. Age limits and branch eligibility rules still apply to every attempt.
