Q1. What qualification is required for UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026?

You must pass Class 12 (Intermediate) from a recognised board or council. A valid UPSSSC PET 2025 scorecard is also compulsory. Both conditions apply together, so one alone will not work. There is no requirement of B.Ed, D.El.Ed or TET for the Lekhpal post. Keep your marksheet and PET documents ready before you register. Candidates who are waiting for final results should check the notification clause first.

Q2. What is the age limit and the cutoff date for this recruitment?

You must be at least 18 years old and not more than 40 years old as on 1 July 2025. Uttar Pradesh OBC candidates get 3 extra years. SC and ST applicants get 5 extra years. PwD candidates receive 10 years, and 15 years if they belong to a reserved category. Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per state government norms. Age proof is taken from your Class 10 certificate.

Q3. How much is the application fee and is anyone exempt?

The fee is Rs. 25/- for every category. General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PH candidates all pay the same amount. No category gets a waiver at the form stage. Payment can be made through SBI I Collect mode or an E Challan. A separate mains exam fee is charged later, once you clear the PET shortlist. Always keep the payment receipt safe for future stages.

Q4. What is the selection process and does the exam have negative marking?

Your PET 2025 score decides shortlisting for the mains exam. There is no separate prelims test for this post. The mains written paper is objective type and was held on 21 May 2026. Main subjects are General Hindi, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Rural Development. Any negative marking rule is applied exactly as written in the official notification. Document verification follows for the shortlisted candidates.

Q5. Can I correct my application form after submission?

Yes, a correction window was open for editing submitted details. The last date to make changes was 4 February 2026. You can fix name, address, category or qualification entries during that window. Changes after the deadline are normally not allowed. Once the window closed, the submitted data was treated as final.

Q6. When was the mains exam held and when did the admit card come?

The mains written exam took place on 21 May 2026. Admit cards were released around 16 May 2026 on upsssc.gov.in. The answer key followed on 22 May 2026, and a revised key came out on 1 July 2026. Results were declared on 11 September 2026. Keep your admit card and roll number until the process ends.

Q7. Which documents are needed for the document upload stage?

Shortlisted candidates uploaded scanned documents between 15 and 29 September 2026. Keep your Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 marksheet, PET scorecard, caste or EWS certificate and domicile ready. A recent photo, signature and photo identity proof are also needed. All scans must match the file size and format rules. Original certificates are checked later during physical verification.

Q8. Where do I apply online for UP Lekhpal Vacancy 2026?

The online form was submitted only through the official portal upsssc.gov.in. Registration opened on 29 December 2025 and closed on 28 January 2026. No offline form or postal application is accepted.
