Q1. What is the educational qualification required for ISRO Scientist Engineer posts in 2026?

You need a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering branch. The degree must come from a recognized Indian university or institute. Candidates must secure at least 65% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6.84 out of 10. A valid GATE score card in the specific discipline is also strictly mandatory. Final year students can apply if they meet these criteria before the specified date.

Q2. How is the age limit calculated for the ISRO ICRB Scientist Engineer recruitment?

The maximum age limit is 28 years as of 17 August 2026. There is no minimum age specified for these technical posts. Reserved category candidates receive upper age relaxation as per government rules. OBC candidates get 3 extra years while SC and ST candidates receive 5 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get 10 to 15 years of additional relaxation based on their category.

Q3. Is there a written examination for the ISRO Scientist Engineer BE001 to BE007 posts?

There is no separate written exam for these specific Scientist Engineer posts. ISRO shortlists candidates directly based on their valid GATE scores. Shortlisted applicants then appear for a rigorous personal interview round. The interview assesses core technical knowledge and applied engineering skills. Your final selection depends entirely on your interview performance and GATE ranking combined.

Q4. What is the application fee for the ISRO Scientist Engineer recruitment 2026?

General, OBC, and EWS male candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 250. Women candidates from all categories are completely exempt from paying any fee. SC, ST, and physically handicapped candidates also pay zero application fee. You can pay the fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. The payment must be completed by 19 August 2026.

Q5. How does the ISRO answer key objection process work for related exams?

ISRO releases a provisional answer key after conducting the computer based test. Candidates can review their response sheets and challenge incorrect answers. You must pay Rs 100 per question along with applicable bank charges to object. The board refunds this fee if your objection is found valid and accepted. The objection window for the September 2026 exam closed on 28 September 2026. Revised final answer keys are now available without further challenges.

Q6. Can I apply for multiple engineering disciplines in this ISRO recruitment drive?

You can only apply for the specific post that matches your engineering degree. Your B.E. or B.Tech branch must exactly match the post requirement. For example, Mechanical engineers cannot apply for the Computer Science vacancy. You must also hold a valid GATE score in that exact same discipline. Applying for mismatched trades will lead to immediate rejection during document verification.

Q7. Where can I download the official ISRO Scientist Engineer recruitment notification?

You can download the complete notification PDF from the official ISRO website. SarkariKing.com also provides a direct link to the official bilingual advertisement. The notification contains detailed syllabus, eligibility rules, and reservation rosters. Always read the full document carefully before submitting your online application form. Keep a printed copy ready for future reference during the interview stage.

Q8. What documents do I need to carry for the ISRO Scientist Engineer interview?

You must bring original educational certificates including your B.E. or B.Tech degree. Carry all semester mark sheets and your valid GATE score card printout. Bring your Class 10 certificate as proof of your date of birth. Valid photo identity proof like an Aadhaar Card or Passport is strictly required.
