The exam is a computer based test of three hours with 65 questions carrying 100 marks. About 30 percent weight goes to General Aptitude and the rest covers your chosen subject. Each wrong multiple choice answer costs one third of the assigned marks. There is no negative marking for MSQ and NAT type questions. A virtual calculator appears on your screen, so personal calculators are not allowed inside the hall.

The fee is non refundable once paid.

The application correction window opens on 14 October 2026 and closes on 21 October 2026. You can change limited fields such as photograph, signature, category details, and paper choice. Core details like your name and date of birth usually stay locked after submission. Login to GOAPS during this period and review every field before you save. No corrections are allowed after the window shuts.

Keep your Class 10 marksheet, degree marksheets, and passing certificate handy in scanned form. Final year students should prepare a certificate from the Head of the Department. New and Emerging Papers (DA, RA, ES, NM)	4 Papers	Data Science and AI (DA) is open to engineering and science graduates. Robotics and Automation (RA) is a brand new paper added for GATE 2027.
